THE FIELD GUIDE / GUIDE
Goo Piles in Deep Dish Dungeon
Break goo piles with a Pickaxe: they can yield Clay and may block a passage.

Where to look
Look for the yellow goo in the sewers. Some piles obstruct a passage; clear the material itself and check whether a route opens behind it. The prison also contains Goo Piles: patch 1.0.50.0 moved some of them to make them easier to spot.
Get a Pickaxe and clear the pile
Bring a Pickaxe to the obstruction and strike the goo. Sera describes finding the tool in the spider prison by taking the spiral stairs down rather than up towards the large bat hall.
Patch 1.0.51.0 added a Pickaxe recipe to the Workbench. The patch note does not specify the ingredients or unlock conditions, so check the recipe in your own game.
- From the main hall, reach the prison with the Small Key and Prison Key; burn the webs on the approach with a Torch.
- Descend the stairs twice in the prison and open the nearby door; the Pickaxe is just beyond it. Check the actual door prompt rather than assuming which key it requires.
- Return to the yellow goo, equip the Pickaxe and break the pile. Collect any Clay it releases and inspect the newly accessible space.

What the pile gives you
In Stumpt’s recording, a player hits a Goo Pile with a Pickaxe and then picks up Clay. This is one observed example, not a guaranteed drop or amount for every pile. The recording does not identify the game build or platform.
The moving Giant Slime is a separate sewer obstacle. Do not apply the Pickaxe instruction for a goo pile to that creature.

Version notes
The Pickaxe pickup and Clay reports describe the full game around launch; exact builds were not stated. The prison repositioning and Workbench recipe are documented separately in the 1.0.50.0 and 1.0.51.0 Steam patch notes.
