Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op and Player Count

Plan for one host and up to two friends online. Raw Fury’s launch FAQ and Xbox’s game description say three players in total, although the Xbox capability label also says 2–4. For Steam friends, the host sends an invitation and the guest accepts it; enter the lobby password if the host set one.

How many people can play?

The launch FAQ says solo or online co-op with up to two friends. A 2025 developer reply also explicitly described the intended range as 1–3 people. Xbox’s description agrees with the FAQ, but its separate capability label says “Online co-op (2–4)”.

The sources do not explain why that Xbox label differs. Raw Fury’s separate product page also says “up to three friends”, so neither conflicting line proves that a fourth unmodified player can join. Plan for three total until the current lobby or an updated official clarification settles the discrepancy.

Invite a Steam friend

Unity’s interview with the developer describes this Steam-to-Steam invitation flow for the full game:

The interview describes a Steam-friends invite; it does not supply a button-by-button Steam-to-Xbox invite procedure. Steam and Xbox crossplay itself is confirmed by the developer’s Unity interview and Xbox Wire.

  1. Choose a host to create the session; the creating player acts as host.
  2. The host selects a friend from the Steam friends list and sends an invitation.
  3. The friend accepts the invitation and joins the same lobby. If the host has set a password, the friend enters it.
  4. A friend can join a session already in progress. Unity says the joining game receives the host’s current dungeon state, including picked-up objects and enemy state.

Coordinate without fixed classes

Agree on a task before splitting up: one player can stay at camp and cook while another goes out to forage. The developer describes positional in-game voice and dungeon intercoms that can broadcast to everyone.

Voice also contributes to the noise enemies can react to, so decide when to talk during a risky approach. This is a suggested division of work, not a required character class. In patch 1.0.50.0, hosts gained a kick option in the pause-menu Players list.

What about a four-player mod?

The community-made Deep Dish More Players mod advertises a fourth seat on the host’s modified PC game. That is a separate, unofficial option and does not resolve the conflicting Xbox store label.
